Amanda Butz receives multiple dissertation research honors

Amanda Butz, our research assistant, has been named one of 61 finalists for a National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation dissertation fellowship. She was also accepted to the American Educational Research Association Division C’s professional seminar for doctoral students.
Congratulations, Amanda, on these well-earned honors!

Call for Posters: UKY Children at Risk conference

The fourth annual Interdisciplinary Graduate Student Conference for Research on Children at Risk will be held at the University of Kentucky in Lexington on April 17th and 18th, 2014. Send abstract to Dr. Christia Spears Brown ( by March 14, 2014.
Posters will be printed by the Psychology department and authors of posters selected for presentation will receive prizes!

UK Engineering Student Survey Begins on Nov. 12

P20 Motivation Lab members will be visiting engineering classes in the next few weeks to administer the UK Engineering Student Survey to undergraduate students in the College of Engineering beginning November 12.

Dr. Usher Visits Grenoble, France

Dr. Usher is in Grenoble, France to talk about motivation and American education to students at the Université Pierre-Mendès-France (UPMF). UPMF is focused on social sciences and humanities, and offers opportunities to international researchers at all levels.

2014 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR): Call for Proposals

The University of Kentucky is hosting the 2014 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) here in Lexington, KY on April 3 – 5, 2014. Undergraduate student researchers are encouraged to submit an abstract of their proposals. Deadline to submit the abstract is Friday, December 6, 2013, 11:59 EST.
