Dr. Usher is visiting Grenoble, France to talk about motivation and American education to students at the Université Pierre-Mendès-France (UPMF). Her teaching activities in France are part of a university-to-university Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UPMF and the University of Kentucky. The MOU allows the formal exchange of classes, students, researchers, and faculty.

UPMF is located in the heart of Europe, in the Rhône-Alps region, near Switzerland, Italy, and the Mediterranean sea. Grenoble itself is described to have a mountain at the end of every street. UPMF is focused on social sciences and humanities, and offers opportunities to international researchers at all levels.
