This year, we have visiting scholar Pilvi Peura, joining our lab. Pilvi is a doctoral student in Special Educatio n from Finland. Pilvi made the decision to join the lab because we are currently one of the few research labs studying self-efficacy in primary schools, which is her main interest. She gained interest in the lab when her adviser expressed the thought that Dr. Usher would be a good collaborator for research.
After completing her graduate program, Pilvi hopes to continue doing research and working as a special education teacher. She enjoys working with children who have low self-efficacy for reading and math. Pilvi says that her favorite things about Lexington so far are the P20 lab and the university.
Outside of the lab Pilvi enjoys yoga, playing sports, cooking, listening to music and going to concerts.
I hope you will join us in welcoming Pilvi to our lab for the 2016 Spring semester!
